The "Fougères" bottle evokes the striking moment when the master glassmaker gathers an incandescent drop of crystal from the crucible with a fine pipe, giving birth to this spectacular piece.

Another nod to the delicate process of glassmaking, the bottle is decorated with ferns. This plant, which grows in the forests surrounding the Lalique Crystal Works in Wingen-sur-Moder, in Alsace, is also an important element in glass production. Rich in potash, fern ash has been used for centuries to lower the melting temperature of crystal to 1400-1500 degrees Celsius
